Marcus is the Artistic Director of Pilot Theatre – the National Touring Arts Council NPO based in York.
Most recently he adapted and co-directed the feature film ‘The Knife That Killed Me’ for Universal Pictures which was released in April 2015.
He created the opening event for the IIFA Bollywood Oscars at Sheffield Arena for a live audience of 15,000, and a TV audience of 500 million.
He first attend the TED conference in California back in 2007 and subsequently has returned for several conferences. He set up set up the ‘Shift Happens’ Conferences. He ran TEDxYork and has co-curated No Boundaries since 2014.
He has pioneered livestreaming and webcasting with Pilot since 2008 and currently leads the TheatreLivestream.TV project. Pilot are the leading company on Platform Shift+ an EU network of 10 countries focusing on emerging technologies and the Arts.
He was part of the bid team which won the designation for York of the first UNESCO City of Media Arts in the UK. He is a published playwright and his work has been translated and performed all across Europe.
Marcus is a regular speaker and presenter on the use of digital technology in the Arts.
