David trained as an actor and director, before returning to Exeter in 2010 to open the Bike Shed Theatre with Fin Irwin. The venue, in two adjacent cellars in the centre of the city, produces and presents new work whilst its cocktail bar supports the running costs of the organisation. In 2015, the Bike Shed joined Arts Council England’s National Portfolio. David is currently undertaking a Clore Leadership Fellowship.
